April 11: Join HRF to Discuss Freedom in China at Columbia University

NEW YORK (April 8, 2016) — Human Rights Foundation (HRF) and the Asian American Alliance (AAA) are presenting a panel called “The Awakening of China’s Human Rights Movements” at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University, on April 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST.

The panel will feature human rights lawyer and visiting fellow at New York University Teng Biao; pro-democracy activist and Tiananmen Square survivor Yang Jianli; author and civil rights activist Chen Guangcheng; and independent journalist and feminist Lü Pin.

The conversation will be moderated by Columbia University Visiting Assistant Professor Leta Hong Fincher and will focus on both the vulnerability of the Chinese government, and the strength of the Chinese people in their struggle for freedom.
